爱沙尼亚的“森林兄弟”在二战结束后通过游击战的方式抵抗苏联占领，最高峰时期达到了近三万人，而同时期爱沙尼亚全国人口不过一百万出头，大规模的战斗直到1953年才被KGB压制下去，而最后的反抗军则坚持到了1963年。
