Could've done that, true. But for some reason I wanted to actually put up an actual pseudo-intellectual argument just to make the guy mald. Kinda hate it when other people throw around their college education as if it's some sort of "I have a degree in XXX, therefore your argument is invalid." certificate.

Good on you for engaging in a civil conversation with him, tho I don't think he actually understood the whole situation of ROC/TW, let alone made much of a solid argument (especially when he started to show his education as the badge)

I guess, I'm usually not one for pointless name-calling and "噴糞" as we say anymore, there's enough of that on Twitter and whatever. I used to do that when I was a uni student in Taiwan, kind of like a way to release my inner emotions by yelling at strangers over the Internet for pointless reasons. So now I either ignore them or occasionally have a somewhat logical discussion with them. But with Chinese people, it usually devolves right back to name-calling anyway.
