献忠复以己意作成谚语，请司铎志之，寄往欧洲各国，以扬其聪慧 之意。

其谚语云:「天造万物为人，而人受造非为天。」又曰:「造天之神，即造地之神也。」又云:「高山有青松，黄花生谷中。 一日冰雹下，黄花不如松。」种种呓语， 难以胜数。

献忠请司铎将此语速寄欧洲，使文人学士先睹为快。并许两载平定内乱 后当送二司铎回欧洲，不复烦驾再至。 29

按献忠所作诗中文原本失传，James Parsons 英译Dunin Szpotz 转述安司铎所记书作:“Heaven takes the ten thousand things to bestow upon man. / Man has not one thing to bestow upon Heaven. / The gods are perspicacious. / Consider yourself and judge yourself. / In the heights of the mountains stand green pines. / At the foot of the mountains, flowers bloom in the valley. / But one day will come when the hail will fall, / And the pine, to be sure, will keep its green, / But the flowers with all their beauty will wither away.” 大致就中文演绎，读者可以从中比较两种文字会意。 30 据吴伟业《绥寇纪略》的记载，献忠曾自为一文评论古代帝王， 谓之〈御制万言策〉，但此文失传。
