Tbh buddy here is not for someone who has the desire to learn the Chinese language. I sincerely recommend you surf some Chinese versions of foreign media such as Vice China and NY times China. Those websites would use a formal expression of Chinese, and sentences in articles are logical & intuitive clear.

Indeed, just like typically we don't see Twitter a good source to learn English. It's better to start learning from appropriate expressions instead of memes, slang, and homophones.

I disagree.

This is actually a good sub to learn English as well as the voice of civilian Chinese. If we use fewer jargon, metaphors, memes, homophones, Chinese learners can get what we mean indeed. Or, if they ask, we can still elaborate.

chonglang tv = 冲（chong，一声）浪（lang，四声）tv = surfing tv。这个sub的主要用户是一些被中国政府打压的alt-left 和 alt-right。所以这里的人使用中文时的习惯，以及喜欢使用的词汇都和多数中国人不一样。一定程度上，类似4chan的用户和正常的英语使用者之间的关系。

我真诚地建议，你如果要学习中文的话，可以试一试使用weibo。一方面，那里的人大多都是正常中国人，说话方式比较正规；另一方面，那里的人的想法才是真正的大多数的中国人的想法，可以帮助你了解真正的中国。

这个sub的人，人均都是“恨国党”（俚语，指非常厌恶中国政府, 甚至对中国本身抱有极大的敌意的人。通常情况下，这个词被政府支持者使用，来攻击政府反对者。但是，一些政府反对者也会使用这个词称呼自己，起到讽刺作用）。如果你想看不同看法的话，你可以去r/china_irl 。weibo是个网站，也有app，你可以google一下，weibo支持使用非中国的手机号码来进行注册。weibo类似于Twitter

不建议用Weibo或任何中共控制的社交媒体，上面的言论审查太严重，很多人都不好好说话，这对初学者来说太难了，就好比你把I am happy 打成1 @m h@ppγ 一样，刚学英文的人看得懂吗？显然 /r/Chineselanguage 是个更好一点的sub.

The censorship on any CCP controlled social media is very strict and many users can't voice in a normal way, which is challenging for newbies. Overall, /r/Chineselanguage is a better sub for learning Chinese.

此外，如果喜欢看电影电视或者玩游戏的话，中文版本的作品要是不错的选择，寓教于乐。

Plus, the Chinese edition of movies, TV shows and games are also solid choices if you're interested in them.

现在的网络环境确实不太适合学中文的人，尤其是中国的社交媒体平台。但是这里就好一点，至少不需要用通假字来规避言论审查。

The current internet atmosphere is not quite good for Chinese learners, especially via Chinese social media platforms. However, this sub is slightly better because you don't have to use homophones to dodge the censorship.
