Because most East Asian subreddits are in fact full of expats. Whereas India has lots of their own subreddits: /r/india, /r/IndiaSpeaks, /r/indianews, /r/unitedstatesofindia, /r/librandu, /r/delhi, /r/mumbai, /r/chennai, etc. For example, just /r/Mumbai subredit has similar amount of subscribers as /r/korea.
