On March 2, 2022, the Chinese language subreddit r/那個sub was suddenly and permanently banned. r/那個sub was one of Reddit's most active Chinese language subreddit, with over 53,000 people before it was banned. The users called themselves " LangRen ", who often expressed their views on Chinese political issues in a black humorous accent. After the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, r/那個sub launched a "The Great Translation Movement " in which many "LangRen" translated a lot of pro-Russian invasions and pro-Putin rhetoric from social media platforms in mainland China and Chinese men's comments about "trafficking and marrying with Ukrainian girl" into English and posted them on the board to be known by Ukrainians and the international community. In addition, a week after the Russian invasion, many "LangRen" donation proves to Ukraine were posted on r/那個sub, most of them with screenshots of donation receipts, and the total amount of donations before they were blocked was over $10,000. The reason for Reddit's blocking of r/那個sub is the posting of personal information, which is suspected to be related to their exposing a Chinese person named "Xu Hao" who claimed to be an employee of a bank in Shanghai and was subsequently exposed by the "LangRen" after the employee used his/her authority to intercept several donations to Ukraine.
