民族國家社會主義與馬克思主義的根本分別在於前者視民族為一整體，外族為敵人，而後者視全人類為一整體，資本家為敵人。兩者皆在自己定義的 Collective Commune 集體社區中，進行財產國有分和再分配，以及推動集體主義。有人會說Nat Soc 不是真的社會主義，就像Democratic People's Republic of Korea 不是共產主義國家，或者People's Republic of China 不是真正的共產主義國家，又比如古巴，蘇聯，東德等國。There is no true "communism". 所有自稱共產主義的國家最後也是淪落為極權國家，而沒有建立所謂工人的理想國。與其說NASDP 是Nat Soc, 倒不如說是Nat Com, 民族國家共產主義。說納粹是共產主義的分支也不足為過，而如果共產主義是Soc 的分支，把Nat Com 分在社會主義之下也算合理。
