We discovered that the moderator team at Chonglangtv was infiltrated by the Chinese state. We strongly suspect that all of their moderator accounts were now managed and maintained by a PR team sponsored by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission of China.

They now impose soft censorship against foreign dwellers. They ban influencers and people who crosspost from sources such as Pincong, Falungong, as well as various other anti-establishment news sources.

We frequently observed a bizarre behaviour pattern of some of their active moderators: They do not recognize people who argued with them one day ago or accounts they banned previously. This comes to our attention and we realized that their accounts were managed by a team that lacks internal communication. We deduce the users behind the moderator accounts were not the same as they first became moderators.

They also impose censorship by banning people with pretenses as small as posting the “sweat smiling face” emoji twice as they consider posting the emoji in the same thread twice to be a violation of their rules and a sign of disobedience to their team. They only ban people that post serious content, if you pose any serious content, they will ban you eventually.

Eventually, they have exposed themselves as they have to do something to earn credits from their overlords. So we migrated to this sub as our base of operation. Eventually, this sub will also be infiltrated, but at least we have a month or two to take a breath.
